UCC Rusticates Two Students Over Clash Between Atlantic Hall And Casely Hayford Hall

Two students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have been suspended for two semesters for their involvement in an act of vandalism that occured on campus.

The suspension takes effect from second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year.

This was contained in a letter dated Friday, 17th March, 2017 and signed by the Director of Academic Affairs of the University. It  states that the two students: Mr. Augustine Awotwe Mintah and Mr. Prince Kwabena Agyemang, have been rusticated for the various roles they played in the clash between Atlantic Hall and Casely Hayford Hall on campus.

It is unclear which particular “clash” they have been rusticated for. However, it is presumed that this suspension is in connection with the clash that took place last year at the Atlantic hall.

On the same day this letter was issued, a similar incident occurred when some students of Commonwealth Hall (Vandals) from University of Ghana, Unity Hall (Continental) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) who went to join Atlantic Hall of UCC for their 55th hall week celebrations clashed with Haller’s from Oguaa Hall.
