'School has reopened'- UG Academic Affairs Director refutes claims of reopening date extension

The Director of Academic Affairs at the University of Ghana, Mr Enoch Amartei Amartey has debunked rumours making rounds on social media that the school has extended reopening day for the 2015/2016 academic year.
Last night, messages purported to have come from a higher office at the institution suggested the University has extended the date for reopening which was schedule for 12th August, 2015 indefinitely until further notice due to the on-going

strike by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), but speaking on campus exclusive this morning, Mr Amartey said emphatically that “school has reopened” and called on all students to start the necessary registrations for the academic year.

He however indicated that management will meet to decide the way forward should UTAG has not called off their strike by Friday 14th August 2015.
He seized the opportunity to advice undergraduate applicants for this academic year to review their submitted applications with their WASSCE results now available to them.

Mr Amartey further noted that maintenance on students’ MIS Web system has been completed and students can access their academic records online.
He urged students who may have issues with their results to contact academic officers at their various colleges.
