GRASAG-Legon Senate Constitutes Proper Judicial Committee; Mr. Sylvester Nyamekye Recuses Himself

A five-member Judicial Committee of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG)- Legon has been duly constituted and sworn in at an emergency Senate meeting held on Thursday, 4th May, 2017.

The Committee is made up of former Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama Constituency and a PhD Environmental Science candidate, Hon. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, former GRASAG-Legon President and a PhD Information System candidate, Mr. Fred Amankwa-Sarfo, Mr Evans Kwabena Owusu studying LLM, Miss Esther Ofori Boadu also studying LLM and Mr Clement Quao, MBA Management of Information System (MIS) student.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sylvester Nyamekye who served as chairman of the Judicial Committee during Mr Justice Sorogho's administration and was still acting as Chief Justice of the Association has recused himself from the Judicial Committee when members of the Association discovered that he was not a member-in-good-standing.

Hon. Henry Kwabena Kokofu takes over as the chairman of the Judicial Committee for the 2016/2017 academic year.

Hon. Henry Kwabena Kokofu thanked members of Senate and asked for their support.

The immediate task Hon. Henry Kwabena Kokofu and his committee members are confront with, is to grant audience and fair hearing to some aggrieved members of the association who filed petitions with regards to 2017 GRASAG-Legon elections.
