EP University College To Introduce More Programmes Of Study And New Schools

The President of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC), Rev. Dr. Cyril G. K. Fayose has disclosed that approval has been given for the running of other programmes and also creation of new schools.

This, he said, is in line with the university's aim of bringing tertiary education to the doorsteps of the people.

He said the University College gained accreditation for three new programmes namely; Bachelor of Arts in French, Bachelor of Arts in Governance Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Social and Community Development Studies, which led to the establishment of the School of Social Sciences.

The President disclosed this in his summary report of the 2014/2015 academic year at the 7th congregation of the university college on Saturday, 16th April, 2016 at Ho-Kpodzi in the Volta region.

He also noted that management of the University College awaits accreditation to run new programmes under the following schools, the school of Computer Science: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Computer Science and B.Sc. Business Information Systems, the School of Modern Languages: Bachelor of Arts (BA) Ghanaian Language and BA English, the school of Education: Bachelor of Education (B.ED) Basic Education, B.ED Social Studies and B.ED Arts, and the school of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences: B.Sc. Agronomy, B.Sc. Animal Science and Fisheries and B.Sc. Environmental Sciences.

In this regard, he said, work on the ground and first floors of the Ho-Kpodzi Lecture Hall Complex were completed and currently being used by students and staff as lecture halls and offices. He is optimistic that the Complex will be completed in the next academic year if requisite funds are made available.

Meanwhile, the University College has fully paid for 122 acres of land acquired at Adaklu Wumenu and in collaboration with E.P Church, Ghana, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed with IMN Engineering Ltd to build the entire campus with grant from the European Union (EU).

In all, a total of four hundred (400) students including the first batch of students admitted four years ago to pursue B.Sc. Business Administration (Credit Management and Finance) graduated with Bachelor’s degree in various programmes.

The Evangelical Presbyterian University College is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast in Ghana and Eden Theological Seminary in the United States of America.
